Tax Advice for Cyber Security

File your taxes early to reduce the risk of cyber criminals filing a return in your name. Once a return is filed in your name (preferably by you) then it is harder for someone else (a crook) to file a fraudulent return in your name. Keep in mind that if you rush to file you may not take the time to look at forms and websites closely where you find assistance for filing. Make sure these websites are legitimate and have sound security practices. It's always best to go to the source, such as the IRS, to get tax information and forms.
